In 2000, a leading Japanese food company, Meiji introduced an epoch-making dairy product “Probio Yogurt LG21” into Japan’s market. Actually, the yogurt is effective in inhibiting the increase of H. Pylori.

Thanks to its health benefits, now the Meiji LG21 Yogurt is said to sell more than one million every day. The probio yogurt comes in several flavors and is also available in sugar-free and drink bottles.

Actually, the product name, LG21 is derived from the name of a lactic acid bacterium “Lactobacillus gasseri OLL2716” and the 21st century.

In addition to being resistant to gastric acid, the special lactic acid bacterium multiplies rapidly and works well even in the stomach.

According to this article on J-Cast News, when the LG21 yogurt is used in combination with the eradication treatment for H. pylori, it is more effective.

However, by consuming the yogurt only a couple of times, you can’t get its benefits. As with Meiji R1 Yogurt, in order to have its Lactobacillus gasseri OLL2716 bacteria stay in the stomach permanently, you need to eat the LG21 yogurt constantly on a daily basis.

Is there any way to buy some LG21 yogurt or purchase the culture for it here in the united states?

      Thank you for the comment!
I did some research online. But unfortunately, in the current situation, the chances are it is difficult to obtain LG21 and the culture for it outside Japan.
