When it comes to Japanese chocolate brands, Morinaga Milk Chocolate and Meiji Milk Chocolate have a very long history and in terms of brand recognition there is nothing better than these.

Morinaga Milk Chocolate is a bar of milk chocolate released in 1918 by Morinaga Confectionery, which is Japan’s first milk chocolate that was made from cacao beans with the help of foreign engineers.

Meiji Milk Chocolate, sometimes dubbed “Milchi (ミルチ)”, is also one of the oldest milk chocolate bars in Japan, which was put on the market by Meiji Confectionery in 1926.
