Ichiran Instant Tonkotsu Ramen Cup Noodles
Around the end of November of last year (2021), I came across Ichiran instant ramen cup noodles by chance at a Welcia drugstore.
That was a rare joyful discovery because, until then, I only saw the product sold in bulk on the official online store.
In the instant noodles aisle of the drugstore, the cup ramen quickly caught my eye because of the recognizable packaging and almost twice the price compared to its counterparts with similar sizes.
But the item was so appealing that the high price (454 yen/about 3.9 USD) didn’t bother me at all, and I instantly decided to buy it.
Ichiran Tonkotsu Ramen Cup Noodles
The Ichiran cup ramen might be pricey. But with this, you can slurp an authentic bowl of Ichiran ramen at home, individually in a cozy circumstance, without caring about others.
The product is manufactured by Acecook and sold by Ichiran.
Contents
As the description on the lid says, this Ichiran ramen has no toppings other than the secret tare sauce. But the simplicity brings out the original pure taste of the ramen.
The contents of the three packets enclosed in the cup are
- The brown A packet contains soup base powder.
- The white B packet contains soup base liquid.
- The red C packet contains Ichiran’s secret tare sauce.
Cooking
The cooking of this instant ramen is not that complicated, as shown in the table below.

Taste
As for the taste, the tonkotsu (pork bone) broth is light tasting but very flavorful and creamy, which well coats the noodles.
The wheat noodles are non-fried. They are thin but have a pleasant chew and match perfectly with the soup.
Overall, the Ichiran cup ramen is super tasty and high level and deserves the price!
