Umaibo Corn Puff Sweet Flavors Vol.2: Sugar Rusk
After writing the article on Umaibo Chocolate, I checked the history/chronological table of Yaokin Umaibo and found there used to be Caramel, Cocoa, and Kokuto in the sweet lineup.
Unfortunately, those flavors are unavailable now, but Yaokin added this Sugar Rusk (シュガーラスク) (Price: 12 yen) instead to the series of Umaibo in 2013.
Yaokin Umaibo Sugar Rusk
Sugar Rusk is a Japanese snack consisting of slices of small dry toast coated with sugar and butter, and this Umaibo deliciously recreates its flavor.
As Sugar Rusk has a crisp texture and a pleasant bite, this Umaibo gets close to that by reducing the size of the holes.
But the overall dimension is uniform with other Umaibo sticks except for Chocolate, as seen in the photo.
It was my first try at Umaibo Sugar Rusk, but the taste was much yummier than I expected, making the most of the savoriness of the corn puff!
