Hita Tenryosui: Popular Active Hydrogen Mineral Water
I had been looking for it since a reader asked me about Japanese hydrogen water several months ago, and I could finally find it in the beverage section of a supermarket.
What I came across this time is named Hita Tenryosui (日田天領水), which claims it is a kind of naturally activated hydrogen water or 天然活性水素水.
Hita Tenryosui (日田天領水)
Based on some online sources, Hita Tenryosui is a mineral water product sold by Hita Tenryosui Co., Ltd since 1999, which has gained wide recognition as many mass media has introduced it.
What caught my eye first when I grabbed the PET bottle was the yellow label on the front stating;
The water has been awarded the Monde Selection Grand Gold Award for 13 years and the ITI International Taste Institute Superior Taste Award for 17 consecutive years.
As it says, this mineral water indeed tastes fine. Not only tasty and easy to drink, but Hita Tenryosui also contains lots of hydrogen carbonate ions and silicon, filtered through the stratum layers of the Hita Basin in Oita Prefecture.
Through this research, I could find the Hita Tenryosui water great, not just because of the titles it got but for its good quality and taste. The mineral water is a weakly alkaline godsend with a pH of about 8.3, and you can find out more on the official English site.
P.S. As for availability, I think this one is currently the easiest-to-obtain hydrogen water in Japan, and if you want to try it, I recommend searching supermarkets.
