Yakult Milmil: Benefits of the Yogurt Milk
In the previous post, I researched how Joie differs from Yakult. Then, how about Milmil (ミルミル)?
Yakult Milmil
For the unfamiliar, Yakult Milmil (Price: 100 yen) is a milk flavor yogurt drink first released in 1978.
Based on this announcement by Yakult, it is the world’s first product that fermented milk with bifidobacteria (unique to the maker).
Health Benefits
Milmil contains a probiotic bacteria called Bifidobacterium Breve strain Yakult (Lactobacillus acidophilus), which works in the large intestine, delivered live.
(Meanwhile, Yakult & Joie’s Lactobacillus casei strain Shirota (YIT 9029) works in the small intestine. It increases bifidobacteria and reduces coliform bacteria.)
The BY bifidobacteria suppresses the propagation of harmful bacteria in the large intestine and improves intestinal function.
Taste
Yakult Milmil tastes like a cross between milk and yogurt. It is not sweet compared to Joie but easy to drink and yummy.
