Meiji LG21 Yogurt: Effective in Inhibiting H. Pylori Activity
It is said that one in two Japanese is infected with Helicobacter Pylori. As you know, the bacteria infects the stomach, not only causes chronic gastritis and gastric ulcers but can also bring about stomach cancer.
But now, Japan has a super food-like dairy product against Helicobacter Pylori.
Meiji Probio Yogurt LG21
In 2000, the leading Japanese food company Meiji introduced an epoch-making yogurt product called “Probio Yogurt LG21”, which actually is effective in inhibiting H. Pylori activity.
The probiotic yogurt comes in several flavors and is also available in sugar-free and drink bottle varieties. Thanks to the health benefit, today the Meiji LG21 Yogurt is said to sell more than one million every day.
Health Benefits
The product name of LG21 is derived from the lactic acid bacteria Lactobacillus Gasseri OLL2716’s name and the 21st century.
In addition to multiplying rapidly, the special lactic acid bacteria called Lactobacillus Gasseri OLL2716 are resistant to gastric acid and work well even in the stomach.
In fact, according to this article on J-Cast News, recent research has proved that the success rate of the eradication treatment for H. pylori increases in combination with the intake of the LG21 Probio yogurt.
However, by eating the yogurt only a couple of times, you can’t get its benefits. As with R1 Yogurt, in order to have the Lactobacillus Gasseri OLL2716 bacteria permanently stay in your stomach, you need to take the probiotic yogurt on a daily basis.

Tomo,
Is there any way to buy some LG21 yogurt or purchase the culture for it here in the united states?
Thank you for the comment!
I did some research online. But unfortunately, in the current situation, the chances are it is difficult to obtain LG21 and the culture for it outside Japan.
