Fujiya’s long-selling Look Chocolate with 4 Flavors
When it comes to Japanese milk chocolate with flavored cream inside, Fujiya Look Chocolate and Meiji Strawberry Chocolate are best-known with a long history.
While the latter, Strawberry Chocolate, debuted in 1967, the former Look Chocolate, also known as Look A La Mode Chocolate, has been around since 1962.
Fujiya Look A La Mode Chocolate
Meiji Strawberry Chocolate only consists of strawberry milk chocolate, while what I introduce here, Fujiya Look Chocolate, has four flavors.
Since each flavor consists of 3 pieces, the box contains 12 pieces of flavored milk chocolate in total.
The logo/packaging was designed by Raymond Loewy (1893-1986), a French-born, famous American industrial designer.
Flavors
The original flavors were coffee, strawberry, banana, and caramel. But the current edition is made up of pineapple, strawberry, banana, and caramel.
As you can see in the photo above, the milk chocolate of Look A La Mode Chocolate is filled with cream flavored with those flavorings.
Taste
As for the taste, the outer milk chocolate part is mild and not overly sweet, while the cream filling inside is very smooth, giving a delicious taste accent to the candy.
I especially like the strawberry and pineapple flavors because they have a pleasant hint of tartness.

Lastly, let’s see the ingredients and nutrition facts listed on the back of the package. According to that, the calories per box (46 grams) are 268 kcal.
