Norishio Potato Chips fried with Kadoya Sesame Oil
At a 7-Eleven I stopped by yesterday, I found these Norishio potato chips from Calbee collaborated with Kadoya Goma Abura, which sounded very Japanese, and I decided to buy one.
Calbee Norishio & Goma Abura Flavor Potato Chips
The official name of the potato chips flavor is のりしおとごま油 (Nori-Shio & Goma Abura), which can translate into English as nori-salt & sesame oil.
As the meaning indicates, the maker fries these slices with sesame oil and dusts them with nori (seaweed) particles and salt.
According to the product description, Calbee adopts Kadoya’s purely extracted sesame oil, nori from the Ariake sea, and Okinawan salt to make the snack addictive.
As you may know, Kadoya Goma Abura is a sesame oil that Japan boasts, and the Norishio flavor is also unique to my country. And not to mention, the combination was so good that these crisps tasted fabulous!
Unfortunately, this product is a limited-time offer, but if you want to try it, you can get Kadoya sesame oil and nori particles (I recommend Aonori) from Amazon. And it would be great to make potato chips with those Japanese specialties!
